Former National Service personnel, Deborah Seyram Adablah, famously known as the ‘side-chic’ of a former finance officer of a bank, has been jailed for 45 days for contempt of court.

This came after she was cited for hurling insults and curses at a judge in a viral video recorded while she was at a salon. In court on May 6, 2025, she pleaded guilty to the insult after the video was played in open court.

Subsequently, the court interrogated her as to why she would resort to such an act. In response, she said she did not realize what she had done until she watched and listened to the video in open court.

This development follows a bench warrant issued by the High Court in Accra on Monday, May 5, for the immediate arrest of Ms. Seyram Adablah, the young woman who had sued the former Chief Finance Officer of a bank, claiming sexual harassment.

The court, presided over by Justice John Bosco Nabarese, held that the young woman must appear and explain why she should not be jailed for her offense.

In his ruling, the judge stated that the sentence would serve as a deterrent to anyone intending to bring the name of the court into disrepute or scandalize judges.
