The Eastern North Regional Police Command arrested three suspects for stealing a Hyundai Santa Fe with registration number GG 2–18 at Sarpeiman in the Greater Accra Region.
The suspects were arrested on April 30, 2025. Two of them, Kwabena Tawiah and Kwadwo Asiedu, were arrested from their hideout at a hotel in Nkawkaw, while the third suspect, Dennis Debra, alias Kapun, was arrested in Pemenase in the Ashanti Region.
Police preliminary investigations established that the said vehicle was stolen from a washing bay at Kuntunse Satellite in Accra on April 24, 2025.
Upon interrogation, Kwabena Tawiah and Kwadwo Asiedu confessed to having sold the vehicle to Dennis Debra, alias Kapun, for GH₵15,000.00, of which GH₵2,000.00 had been paid as part payment.
Suspect Dennis Debra, alias Kapun, was subsequently traced and arrested at his hideout in Pemenase. A search conducted on him led to the retrieval of the ignition key to the stolen vehicle.
The suspects and the vehicle have since been handed over to the Police in Accra to assist with investigations.
