The Member of Parliament (MP), for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, has asserted that he independently funded his campaign during the 2024 general election.

According to him, he ran his campaign without the support of any politicians or influential figures in the country during the election year.

He pointed out that he did not ask for even Ghc 1.00 from anyone.

A-Plus affirmed that he is very wealthy, which enabled him to finance his campaign without the assistance of any politician.

He stated that his financial resources played a crucial role in securing his victory for the Gomoa Central seat.

Speaking on Channel One TV on Monday, May 5, 2025, he dismissed allegations that he was financed by Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST) during the campaign, describing these claims as mere rumours.

“Me, I ran my campaign; there’s no big man in this Ghana here who can go anywhere and say when A Plus was campaigning he came to me for Ghc1.00. Kwame A Plus is grounded, me wÉ” sika,” he declared.

“I contested as an independent candidate and was able to defeat the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“Go and ask them; on the day of the election, they came to do their schemishes, claiming they are the government in power, we’re NDC, NPP. I showed them that this is the street,” he claimed.
