Member of Parliament for Kade Constituency, Alexander Kwadwo Agyare says Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (Gold Bod), Sammy Gyamfi, should be investigated just as was done to the former Sanitation Minister, Cecelia Dapaah under the regime of Nana Akufo-Addo.

Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Mr Agyare stated that Cecilia Dapaah rather became the subject of investigation after she reported to the police that her house helps had stolen some huge amounts of money from her.

He explained that, the very moment Ghanaians heard about the issue, they demanded that she should be investigated because they believed there could be more money hidden in her closet.

Former Sanitation Minister, Cecilia Abena Dapaah

The GoldBod CEO was captured in a video gifting hundreds of dollars to evangelist Patricia Koranteng popularity known as Nana Agradaa, after attending a funeral.

He has come under heavy criticism from both his party faithful and opposition supporters, for living lavishly in defiance to the code of conducts recently launched by President John Mahama for his appointees.

According to the Kade MP, the opinions of the public were put into consideration and investigations were conducted.

“The court of public opinion is greater than any courts in this country,” he stated.

Mr. Agyare reminded Ghanaians on how Sammy Gyamfi stood on his ground demanding that Cecelia Dapaah should be interrogated.

“Sammy Gyamfi on the other hand, as a legal practitioner hammered that Cecelia Dapaah should be investigated as far as she is working under the government.

“Aside that too, it is a disgrace to see him sharing dollars after $279 million dollars was given to him to promote GoldBod. That is what baffles Ghanaians,” he said.

He stated that, it is not written in the constitution that, expressing a generous gesture towards another person is a crime but since President Mahama has laid out a code of conduct to check and protect the appointees of the NDC, he must
stand on it to investigate Sammy Gyamfi’s dollar case.

He added Sammy Gyamfi be questioned about the source of the money he was sharing in viral video.
