Government spokesperson, Kwaku Owusu Banahene, has described Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, as destructive, with a motive to tarnish the image of the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi.
Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Thursday, May 15, 2025, he said that the way Agradaa carries herself suggests someone who has been possessed by the spirit of Jezebel, a saying used to refer to a person who controls and manipulates people negatively.
“Agradaa has a Jezebel spirit in her, a woman who can stand in front of camera and discuss her bedroom life on social media,” he suggested.
Speaking further on the matter, Mr. Banahene said the controversial Agradaa’s intention was to set Mr. Gyamfi up and disgrace him, citing her recorded video that surfaced on the internet as part of a planned move.
“What was Agradaa’s intention putting camera on Sammy Gyamfi when he was counting the money?” he asked rhetorically.
The NDC communicator further found it difficult to come to terms with Agradaa’s actions, questioning why someone who made money through her ‘Sika Gari’ extortion activities during her time as a fetish priestess would beg for money from Gyamfi, hinting at different intentions.
Mr. Banahene defended Sammy Gyamfi’s kind gesture, stating that it has always been his nature to offer help to people.
“Sammy Gyamfi is a giver. Anyone who has worked with him before will testify,” he added.
He further expressed his utmost disappointment in some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who were calling on His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to take action against Sammy Gyamfi.
“The most painful thing is, some of our very own NDC members who called on the President to sack Sammy Gyamfi, what will they gain from this?” he questioned.
Following the brouhaha and calls for Sammy Gyamfi’s dismissal, President Mahama on Wednesday, May 14, cleared him but cautioned him against repeating similar actions in the future.
