Actor Liwin has reported that he and his film crew were attacked earlier Friday, May 30, 2025, while working on the set of his upcoming movie, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
In an instagram post, he said the incident occurred when a group of unidentified individuals, riding approximately 10 motorbikes, stormed the filming location and disrupted production. The altercation led to the property owner requesting an immediate halt to filming on the premises.
“About 9 to 10 motorbikes, with the riders’ faces masked, stormed the set, attempting to halt our movie production and causing destruction to the property. This forced the landlord to intervene and stop us from continuing the shoot,” he declared.
He further said the assailants confronted him over his decision to move forward with the film, which is based on the life of the President of Burkina Faso, despite previous warnings not to pursue the project.
He continued by saying,”Despite the challenges we’ve faced, we’re committed to releasing the movie as planned. Ghanaians will ultimately understand the reasons behind our determination to bring this story to life.”
