Ghana Premier League (GPL) side, Nation’s FC, has called for investigations into the unfortunate incidents that led to the abrupt ending of their weekend league match against Basake Holy Stars.
The Abrankese-based league outfit cited a series of unacceptable and unsporting incidents that undermined the integrity of the game and endangered the safety of their personnel.
In a statement, Nation’s FC highlighted poor officiating, security concerns, disrespect towards their supporters, and media obstruction, allegedly carried out by the home side during the game played in Nzema in the Western Region.
The potential league winners, on that basis, strongly condemned these actions and called on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and relevant stakeholders to probe the incidents and take the appropriate disciplinary and regulatory measures.
“The safety, dignity, and fairness owed to every club, official, and supporter must be upheld at all times,” the statement signed by the club’s Communications Department.
With one round of matches to end the 2024/25 league season, Nations FC and Bibiani GoldStars are levelled on 60 points at the summit of the standings.
