Members of Parliament (MPs) on the Minority Caucus on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, staged a protest to demand the prolonged outcome of the parliamentary election results for the Ablekuma North constituency by the Electoral Commission following the 2024 general elections.
The Minority, marched to the Police Headquarters to petition the Inspector-General of Police over the delay in the election declaration.
“The absence of a declared MP for Ablekuma North constitutes a serious violation of the constitutional right to representation guaranteed under the 1992 constitution,” Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh Dompreh, said while addressing the press.
Mr. Annoh Dompreh appealed to the IGP to provide security protection to the EC to enable them to declare the pending results outcome.
