The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has announced a postponement of the implementation of Tariff Interpretation Order (TIO) No. 2025/004, pertaining to the Energy Sector Levies (Amendment) Act, 2025 (Act 1141).
This suspension comes in response to a directive from the Minister of Finance, following consultations with key stakeholders in the sector.
The order, which included a proposed increase in the Energy Sector Shortfall and Debt Repayment Levy (ESSDRL) on select petroleum products, was originally scheduled to take effect on June 16, 2025.
However, it has now been deferred until further notice.
In a directive dated 13 June 2025, GRA Commissioner-General Anthony, Kwasi Sarpong confirmed the decision and assured that a new implementation date would be communicated in due course.
