Police arrests 19 suspects for drug trade and robbery in Gomoa Dominase

The Central East Regional Police Command, through a special operation on Thursday, June 12, 2025, apprehended 19 suspects in connection with illicit drug trade and robbery activities within the Kasoa-Dominase enclave and the onion market in the Central Region.

The suspects have been identified as Abubakari Ibrahim, Mohammed Awal, Shafiu Salisu, Hamza Amadu, Ali Adamu, Balhani Fuseini, Jamal Haruna, Zakari Abdulai, Abdul Aziz, Bera Kalidu, Moro Baki, Anthony Lucky, and Razak Yussif.

Others include Sumani Issah, Sulley Mohammed, Abdul Salifu, Eliasu Bukari, Kamelo Muuk, and Osumanu Amadu.

Exhibits retrieved during the operation comprise substances suspected to be Indian hemp, alongside controlled pharmaceutical drugs such as Tramadol and ‘Red’.

A statement signed by the Head of the Public Affairs Unit, DSP Victor Kofi Dosoo, noted that all 19 suspects are currently in custody, assisting with investigations and will be presented before the court in due course.

The Regional Command has also commended the personnel involved in the operation and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their efforts to combat crime.

The public has been urged to provide pertinent information to aid in ongoing endeavours to eradicate the menace of illicit drug trade, substance abuse, and robbery within the communities, thereby fostering a safer environment for all.
