President John Dramani Mahama has appointed veteran Ghanaian actress, Kalsoume Sinare, as Ghana’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, as part of a new list of diplomatic assignments.

Her appointment has been met with excitement from both the entertainment industry and the general public.

She joins a list of newly appointed envoys tasked with representing Ghana’s interests abroad.

Her experience in public engagement and communication is expected to play a key role in her new diplomatic responsibilities.

Kalsoume Sinare is a beloved Ghanaian actress, best known to many as the magnetic force behind unforgettable screen roles in *Babina*, *Beyoncé*, *Her Excellency*, *Red Carpet*, *A Taste of Sin*, and *Sala*.

Accra recorded 140mm of rain on June 29, one of the highest in years – Prez. Mahama

Her name echoed loudly in the ’90s after the iconic TV commercial *Benjilo*. Her impact, however, extends far beyond cinema.

She is a dynamic executive leader, an astute businesswoman, and a committed public servant whose influence has steadily evolved to touch nearly every facet of national development.

With a career spanning almost four decades, Kalsoume Sinare has remained remarkably relevant in Ghana’s creative industry, one she helped shape and elevate from its formative years.

She has featured in over 300 films and earned numerous accolades, including the Golden Actress Award in 2017.

Her cinema journey began in 1993 with a breakout role in *Out of Sight, Out of Love*, a performance that earned her international recognition and marked the beginning of an extraordinary career in the movie industry.

Even before the spotlight of film, Sinare had already captured national and international attention.

She was the first runner-up in the 1989 Miss Ghana pageant and went on to win the prestigious title of Miss Model of Africa at the Miss Model of the World competition in Taiwan in 1990, a symbol of her early poise and international appeal.

Today, she brings that same charisma and leadership to boardrooms and national platforms. Armed with a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from GIMPA, a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration, and certificates in International Cultural Diplomacy and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Sinare has transitioned seamlessly into high-level leadership. She currently serves as CEO of multiple companies, including Farikals Productions, with operations spanning healthcare, construction, trade, and entertainment.

Her track record in public service is just as compelling. From her years on the Ghana Tourism Development Board to her active role within the National Democratic Congress, and her certifications in cultural diplomacy, African healthcare systems, and AfCFTA implementation, Sinare continues to engage with the issues that shape Ghana’s future.

What makes her story especially inspiring is not just her ability to evolve, but the depth and substance of that evolution. Whether in film, business, or governance, she embodies a rare mix of star power, strategic insight, and civic commitment. At a time when public trust must be earned, Kalsoume Sinare offers not only visibility but vision, and leadership grounded in both lived experience and service.
