C/R: Two perish in a gory accident on the Mankessim-Accra highway

Two people have died in a fatal accident on the Mankessim-Accra highway, following a head-on collision between a tanker truck and a private car near Ekumfi Essam in the Central Region.

According to a Facebook post by the Ghana National Fire Service, the Mankessim Fire Station responded to a distress call about an accident at Ekumfi Essam on the Mankessim-Accra Highway, which claimed two lives.

A tanker truck with registration number GT 5408-22, traveling from Mankessim to Accra, collided with a Toyota car with registration number GB 4146-22 heading in the opposite direction.

When the crew arrived at the scene, they rescued two people from the badly damaged Toyota. They were later confirmed dead at the hospital.

Their bodies have been deposited at the Roman Hospital Morgue in Mankessim. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
