Management of the University of Ghana has suspended all social gatherings on campus following the resurgence of the pandemic COVID-19 cases.
The institution said, the directive takes immediate effect as part of efforts to curb the spread of the virus within the university community.
The suspension affects all student groups and associations, including the Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana (GRASAG), the Student Representative Council (SRC), Junior Common Rooms (JCRs), and departmental and school associations until further notice.
This means their supposed “week celebrations activities are therefore suspended.”
The suspension directive comes after the University’s Health Services Directorate on Monday, June 23, confirming new suspected and confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the campus and its surrounding areas.
