‘It’s false, Kufour hasn’t tested positive for COVID-19’ – Aide

Former President Kufuor

Senior communications member of the Movement for Change, Solomon Owusu, has lashed out at former President John Agyekum Kufuor, describing him as selfish and self-serving.

He cited personal experiences and longstanding observations as the basis for his disillusionment with the former President.

“For me, I washed my hands off Former President John Agyekum Kufuor long ago in 2017, when I realized he was full of selfishness and personal gains.

“It’s all about him, yes, that’s how he is. Take it from me, Former President Kufuor, selfishness upon him…..,” Mr. Owusu, a former member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), told Saddick Addams on Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

Addressing the NPP’s current struggles, he added that the two-term President has contributed significantly to the cause.

“All these years that Akufo-Addo was collapsing the party, did you ever hear him [Kufuor] even coughing to express concern? Then why now?” Mr. Owusu asked.

He argued that if the former President saw nothing wrong during Akufo-Addo’s leadership, then he should maintain the same level of indifference and accept the consequences.

“If he didn’t see Akufo-Addo’s actions as collapsing the party, then he should let it be the same.”

Mr. Owusu’s assertions come in response to recent frustrations expressed by the former President, who claims he is being sidelined by the Elephant family, despite his influential role.
