The Ministry of Sports and Recreation actively participated in a vibrant policy fair held at the forecourt of the Accra Sports Stadium, as part of the ongoing Civil Service Week celebrations.

Led by Chief Director Mrs. Wilhelmina Asamoah, the Ministry’s presence aimed to highlight its mandate, showcase its achievements, and engage the public in understanding its role in of Sports and Recreation Ministry in national development.

The event, organized by the Office of the Head of Civil Service, is part of a series of activities designed to foster transparency, efficiency, and modernization within the civil service.

This year’s theme, “Adapting to Automation, Artificial Intelligence, and E-Governance: The Civil Service in Contemporary Ghana,” underscores the government’s commitment to leveraging innovative technologies to serve citizens better.

At the Ministry’s stand, visitors were treated to a rich display of the sector’s history and accomplishments. Exhibits included visual retrospectives of the sports and recreation sector, showcasing memorabilia such as trophies, medals, and sporting equipment.

Additionally, visual displays highlighted recent activities and initiatives undertaken by the ministry to promote sports, recreation, and youth development across the country.

Mrs. Wilhelmina Asamoah emphasized the importance of embracing technological advancements in improving service delivery.

“As Ghana moves towards a more digital future, it is crucial that our ministries, including Sports and Recreation, adapt to these changes. This ensures greater transparency, efficiency, and inclusiveness in how we serve our citizens,” she stated.

The Civil Service Week celebration aims to foster a culture of innovation and accountability within government institutions. The policy fair, in particular, provides an opportunity for ministries to connect with the public, showcase their progress, and discuss future plans in the context of Ghana’s broader development goals.

As the country continues to pursue modernization, the Ministry of Sports and Recreation remains committed to embracing new technologies and strategies that will enhance its contributions to national development and promote a vibrant sports culture in Ghana.
