Two brothers, Joojo (45) and Isaac Afful (25), are currently battling for their lives at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after suffering severe machete wounds inflicted by a mentally unstable man at Adansi Kwame Nkyi in the Adansi South District.

According to eyewitness accounts, the suspect, identified as Kwame Abbam, initially attacked Joojo’s wife with a machete without provocation.

However, Joojo intervened, managed to overpower the attacker, and disarmed him.

Moments later, the suspect returned with another machete and launched a second attack, this time targeting Joojo while he was eating. He sustained deep wounds to his shoulder, head, and cheek. Residents rushed to his aid and found him in a pool of blood.

As the community tried to apprehend the suspect, he fled into a nearby bush. In the process of restraining him, he slashed Joojo’s younger brother, Isaac Afful, who also suffered deep machete wounds.

The suspect himself sustained injuries after some agitated residents attempted to lynch him.

He was eventually rescued by community leaders and is currently receiving treatment at the New Edubiase Government Hospital under police guard.
