Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, has inaugurated the Ministry’s Advisory Board to promote continuous engagement between the sector and its stakeholders, with a focus on enhancing national security.
The Board, established in accordance with Section 39 of the Civil Service Act, 1993 (PNDCL 327), will provide valuable counsel on policy direction, planning objectives, and operational strategies to strengthen the Ministry’s mandate delivery.
The Minister highlighted the importance of collaboration in addressing emerging security challenges, such as cybercrime, human trafficking, and arms proliferation.
He also reiterated government’s agenda of retooling all security agencies in the country to enable them to deliver their mandate.
Mr. Muntaka assured the Board that their inputs and feedback would be valued, and together, they would work towards leaving a lasting legacy that would impact the Ministry and the nation.
The Board’s diverse membership, the ministry noted comprises of security experts, civil society representatives, and other stakeholders.
They are expected to provide a platform for collaborative problem-solving and strategic planning.
