The Oti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Nana Kwabena Ntow, has advised media practitioners in the region and across the country to prioritize the promotion of quality journalism and better serve their communities.
Speaking at the MTN Ghana Media Engagement Forum in Dambai, he urged journalists to “prioritize professionalism, accuracy, and fact-checking in their reporting.”
He also encouraged them to avoid sensationalism and focus on stories that benefit their communities and the nation.
Mr. Ntow, who also doubles as the General Manager of Beyond FM, stressed the need for journalists to maintain high professional standards in carrying out their duties to build public trust.
On her part, Madam Afua Serwaa Asafo Adjei, Media Relations Advisor for MTN Ghana, highlighted the importance of engaging customers to understand their needs and challenges.
She emphasized MTN’s commitment to providing quality service to its customers and addressing their concerns.
According to her, the “MTN Media Engagement Forum,” which brought together about 30 journalists from various media houses, was aimed at fostering collaboration and a better understanding of MTN’s services and initiatives.
The engagement, she noted, is expected to lead to more informed and accurate reporting on telecommunications issues in the Oti Region and surrounding areas.
The event held Monday, August 4, 2025, underscored the importance of dialogue between media practitioners and telecommunications companies in promoting quality journalism and better serving communities.
