The Presidency hosted a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at Jubilee House’s Ceremonial Gardens to honour the eight individuals who perished in a military helicopter crash the previous day in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.Helicopter crash victims

Held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, the event marked, the first day of a three-day national mourning period declared by the government in remembrance of the victims, among whom were two senior ministers, Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.Helicopter crash victims

The mourning period will continue through to Saturday, August 9, concluding with an “Evening of Reflections and Memorials” at the Forecourt of the State House.Helicopter crash victims

President John Dramani Mahama, and Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman led the successful ceremony characterised by sorrow and tears of joy among attendees including Chief of Staff, Julius DebrahHelicopter crash victims .

Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, members of the Council of State, bereaved families, friends, government representatives, security personnel, and members of the public gathered for the wreaths laying amid tribute to the deceased.
