The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has confirmed that dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, will be released from custody once he satisfies the bail conditions set following his interrogation and detention on August 20, 2025.

According to EOCO, Shatta Wale was granted bail shortly after the interrogation ended and was set at GHC10 million with two sureties to be justified. It added that once the sureties are presented, the Office will conduct a standard surety inspection before releasing him from custody.

“Once the sureties are presented, hopefully, EOCO will undertake surety inspections, which is a standard protocol, after which Charles Nii Armah Mensah would leave custody,” the Office stated in a statement.

The statement further revealed that Shatta Wale has been unable to identify the individual from whom he claims to have purchased the Lamborghini Urus at the centre of the investigation.

He stated that the vehicle was acquired from the “Street” and possibly from someone named “ZAK,” who may have contacted him via WhatsApp. However, he does not know the person’s identity and has discarded the contact.

Shatta Wale does not possess any formal documentation, such as receipts or transfer papers proving ownership or purchase of the vehicle, EOCO said, indicating the only document in his possession is a customs declaration bearing the name of Nana Kwabena Amuah, a Ghanaian currently serving a jail term in the United States.
