The Western Regional Police Command has launched a manhunt for a teenage boy whose current whereabouts remain a mystery in Efiakuma, in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.

The teenager, a 16-year-old identified only as Emma came to public attention after he reportedly left home unannounced during his parents’ absence.

Emma left home on Sunday, September 14, 2025, leaving behind an emotional tribute note to explain his departure.

In the tribute cited by this portal, the teenager stated that he can no longer stay with his parents due to their perceived lack of love for him.

He indicated that, for this reason, he has sought solace elsewhere, although he still loves them, and urged them not to attempt to look for him.

“Daddy, Mummy, I really love you and appreciate you for what you have done for me. But you all don’t love me. I cannot stay with you anymore and I’m leaving this letter behind because I want you to know that I have left home and I’m not lost so don’t look for me and I will never return,” he wrote.

He further thanked his parents and consoled them, urging them not to worry because God will provide him with protection, denouncing himself missing.

“God will take care of me so I’m saying goodbye to you all. Thank you. This is me Emma,” a portion of the emotional tribute reads.

The mother of the teenager, known as Mama, expressed the family’s frustration over the situation and confirmed that they had reported the matter to the police, along with a copy of the letter.

She explained that her son left home while the family was at church.

“He was supposed to go with us to church but he refused. We went to church and came back to meet his absence. He left the note indicating we don’t love him, but we do love him so much,” she said on Takoradi-based Connect FM.

She appealed to the public, especially residents of the Metropolis, to help bring back their son, emphasizing that they love him deeply.

“We are asking the public to help us look for him, we want him to return home,” the mother added.

Police have commenced their search to locate Emma who is currently considered to be in self-imposed exile.
