The Movement for Change, founded by former Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kyerematen, will officially transition into a political party, marking a pivotal moment in Ghana’s political landscape.

The official ceremony to induct the movement into a political party is scheduled for Thursday, October 16, 2025, in Accra. The event is expected to feature the presentation of the party’s name and symbol.

Solomon Owusu, a Senior Communications Member of the yet-to-be-launched political party, disclosed the official outdooring ceremony on Angel TV on Tuesday, October 14, and urged the public to grace the occasion.

The event is expected to attract significant attention from political analysts, civil society groups, and the general public, as it could reshape the dynamics of Ghana’s political discourse ahead of the 2028 general elections.

When formally transitioned into a political party, Ghanaians will be hoping to see it become a third force in Ghana’s political space and offer competition to the traditional political duopoly enjoyed by the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr. Kyerematen, in a suspense post on his official Facebook wall, wrote, “Anticipate !!! Ghana First.”

The Movement for Change was launched in 2023 by Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen following his resignation from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after his failed presidential bid with the then-ruling party.
