Government must ensure that the supposedly embezzled funds from the National Service Authority (NSA) secretariat by former officials are reclaimed, says former Chairperson of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim Hussein.

She urged the Attorney General, Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, to investigate the matter thoroughly and hold all individuals involved in the case accountable and ensure they pay for their offense.

Madam Hamdatu said this in a panel discussion on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, and described the matter as a serious and national calamity that should be treated without any partisanship.

“Why should we take loans from International Monetary Fund (IMF) when people are stealing state funds,” she asked and reiterriated her position that individuals found guilty should not go scot-free.

She used the platform and schooled Ghanaians, most especially, those appointed to serve in public sectors to be due deligent by serving wholeheartedly and help develop the nation.

“People tend to abuse the opportunity they are given to steal money from the state,” Hajia Hamdatu said and added that “they should prioritize the nation instead of focusing on acquiring wealth illegally from the state.”

She further questioned why there are still ghost names in the National Service Scheme (NSS), when the NSA had claimed that all ghost names were eliminated from the system following the introduction of Ghana card as part of the registration process.
