Ghanaian singer Sista Afia has revealed a disturbing encounter with a fan who touched her inappropriately while she was heading on stage, an act that triggered a strong defensive reaction from her.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, monitored by Angelonline on Thursday, October 30, 2025, the “Jeje” hitmaker explained that she has always disliked being touched when she is preparing to perform, describing it as uncomfortable and intrusive.

“Normally I hate it when people touch me when I’m going on stage, especially the fans. It makes me very uncomfortable.

“There was a time someone pressed me so hard and I hit him with a mic. The person had to go to the hospital, but it wasn’t published,” she said

Sista Afia went on to narrate that the incident occurred just as she was making her way to the stage, and the fan crossed the line by touching her inappropriately.

“It happened when I was going on stage and the person touched me inappropriately.

“He touched my chest and grabbed it intensely. It’s something I won’t forget, and I don’t like it when someone touches me like that,” she explained.

Despite reacting instinctively in self-defense, the singer admitted she later felt guilty about the outcome.

“It made me feel very down. The fact that I actually hurt someone made me feel extra sad,” she added.

Sista Afia emphasized that personal boundaries should be respected, especially when artistes are in public spaces and preparing to perform.
