Chief of Staff to attend 50th SWAG Awards ceremony in Accra

Chief of Staff to attend 50th SWAG Awards ceremony in Accra

Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, is expected to grace 2025 Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards night as Special Guest for the ceremony.

The ceremony is scheduled for November 15 at Accra International Conference Center.

Swag in a statement, announced that Mr. Debrah will grace this year’s ceremony, which marks the 50th edition of the prestigious event since its inception in 1975.

“Hon. Julius Debrah, the Chief of Staff for the Republic of Ghana is the Guest for the Golden Jubilee SWAG Awards.”

According to the Association, there will be a series of activities leading up to the main event, “all aimed at promoting partnerships, sports development and excellence in Ghana.”

SWAG Awards have become a benchmark for excellence in Ghanaian sports, recognizing outstanding achievements and contributions to the country’s sporting landscape.

2025 SWAG Awards will mark the 50th edition of the prestigious event since its inception in 1975, commemorating a golden jubilee celebration of excellence in honouring Ghana’s best sporting heroes and heroines.

This milestone event, according to the leadership, will be a spectacular occasion honouring outstanding achievements in sports and recognizing the best of the best in the year under review and all-time best in the last 50 years.

This year’s ceremony will be a grand celebration of five decades of honouring sports excellence, featuring a star-studded lineup.

It is expected to culminate in captivating performances and memorable moments as the crème de la crème of Ghana’s sports industry and high-profile personalities gather to celebrate and honour sports excellence to inspire future stars.

Personalities who will be decorated on the night as 50th Anniversary Ambassadors include Magaret Simpson (Athletics), Azumah Nelson (Boxing), Abedi Ayew Pele (Football), Michael Essien (Football), Kwadwo Asamoah (Football), Stephen Appiah (Football), Samuel Osei Kufour (Football), Adwoa Bayor, and Alberta Sackey (Football).
