Ghanaian gospel musician Siisi Baidoo has made it clear that, he has no intentions of collaborating with secular artistes, citing the need to maintain clarity for his audience.

Speaking in a recent interview, the gospel minister emphasized that his stance is not based on judging the spiritual standing of secular musicians, but rather on protecting the perception and message of his ministry.

“For me, I don’t believe in featuring a secular artiste on my song. Let me tell you the reason why. It’s not really because the person is not a saint or something like that, but I cannot confuse my audience, that’s the fundamental answer I can give to it,” he stated.

To explain further, Siisi Baidoo used a relatable scenario, comparing the situation to a pastor frequently seen in environments associated with worldly activities.

“For instance, if you see your pastor always in the house of somebody you consider as a secular boy, you will start having thoughts about him and wondering why he’s always there. A perfect example is seeing your pastor always in a beer bar,  even if he went there to evangelize, you’ll start asking questions. Not because he’s doing something wrong, but because you the audience do not know what’s going on there,” he explained.

He added that maintaining a clear message and identity as a gospel minister is his priority.

“I don’t want to confuse my audience. I want them to be very clear about the work we are doing, the message we are putting across. Personally, I will not feature any secular artiste on my song,” he concluded.
