The Circuit Court 11 has granted bail to a 20-year-old musician, Isaac Piibitey after he pleaded not guilty to three charges of unlawful entry, causing damage and stealing at Emefs Estate.

The Court granted him GH₵40,000 bail with two surerities in which one must be justified and the other be a resident within the jurisdiction of this court.

Briefing the court, Chief Inspector Alex Donkor said the complainant is a Structural Engineer and resided at EMEF Estate, Sakumono. While the accused, Isaac Piibitey, an employee of the complainant at EMEF Estate and lived with the complainant in the same residence.

However, the accused is said to be currently living with his mother at Akomadan in the Ashanti Region.

The briefing stressed that in the year 2022, the complainant employed the accused as a sales representative to sell roofing and building materials and also sell electric prepaid power at his shop at Lashibi.

During the period, the complainant detected various misappropriations and suspected the accused, which compelled him to later terminate the contractual agreement between the two parties.

Following his, the accused person then relocated to his mother’s place at Akomadan in the Ashanti Region.

In March, the complainant kept an amount of GH¢700.000.00 in a wardrobe in his bedroom and traveled. On 13 October, 2025, he returned from his journey and detected that someone had caused damage to his ceiling and window, unlawfully entered his bed room and stole the said amount.

Having suspected, the accused person, the complainant reported the case at the Sakumono Police Command.

During investigations, Police lifted finger and foot prints impressions found at the scene. Police also had a lot of information about the accused including CCTV footage of him with a bag pack entering and exiting the complainants house in his absence.

In the course of investigations police lured the accused to a music recording studio at Lashibi where he was arrested.

In his cautioned statement, the accused admitted having entered the complainants house through the window on different occasions and stole monies and some building materials belonging to the complainant.

The accused further stated that he spent the stolen monies as follows: he built a two-bed room self-contained house at Arabic Street of Akomadan, he bought one Apsonic motor bike with registration number M-25-BT 7914, one Bargeman Tricycle with registration number M-BT-568, he deposited an amount of GH¢340,000.00 into his Fidelity Bank account and invested GH¢200,000.00 in treasury bills at the same bank.

Investigations at the account of the accused indicated that an amount of GH¢897.000.00 was deposited in the account, but only a balance of GH¢538,000.00 was left .

Police have since handed over the remaining balance to the complainant.

The accused person was charged with the offences, whilst strenuous efforts are still underway to retrieve the proceed of crime.

The court presided over by Basilia Adjei-Tawiah granted him bail and adjourned the case to December 9, 2025.

The court also ordered the prosecution to file all disclosures for case management conference on the next day.
