The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken a bold initiative to address issues of opponents’ propaganda against the party in its quest to recapture power.
General Secretary of the NPP, Justice Frimpong Kodua, announced that this forms part of strategic plans for the 2028 elections.
Speaking at a press conference, he stated that parts of the strategy include constitutional amendments to combat any form of misrepresentation and propaganda.
“As we are preparing for the Presidential primaries, we are also preparing for the future as part of our strategy to organize our party to recapture power in 2028 these are steps put in place.”
He explained that it was high time the party stood against opponents who often spread lies and propaganda to attract votes.
“We feel that the time has come, we should not allow our opponents to spread lies and propaganda against our party, without having a strong rebuttal form,” Mr. Kodua said on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
He expressed concerns about the perception that the NPP, since its inception, always “struggle to withstand propaganda and falsehood.”
He, however, downplayed it, clarifying that the party’s focus has always been on governance and principles.
According to him, an Amendment Committee took these proposals through a candid procedure before their amendment.
He assured that, moving forward, the NPP will form a formidable communications department.
“I can assure you, going to the 2028 elections the NPP is going to have a strong vibrant communication outfit that will withstand any propaganda from our opponents,” he assured.
