The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has announced a schedule for what is expected to be the final phase of his mediation efforts in the longstanding Bawku chieftaincy conflict.

The schedule outlines a two-day meeting on Sunday, November 30, and Monday, December 1, 2025.

A statement issued by the Manhyia Palace on Monday, November 10, indicated that the two-day exercise will serve as a concluding session aimed at securing lasting peace between the feuding factions.

His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II applauded both sides for the collaboration and commitment shown throughout the engagements, and urged all parties to continue upholding peace as the dialogue reaches its final stage.

“His Majesty praises both sides for their positive approach to the mediation so far and appeals to all concerned to avoid any actions likely to affect the progress towards a lasting solution to the Bawku conflict,” the statement read further.

Otumfuo’s mediation process dates back to April this year, when he met representatives from both factions to begin a new chapter of dialogue.

This follows recent months of recurring violence, heightened tension, and attacks that have led to loss of lives and property within the Bawku municipality.
