Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has condemned the post-match scenes that unfolded after their Super Clash defeat to rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The club expressed deep regret over the incident that occurred after the final whistle of the match played on Sunday, November 9.
The Phobians stressed that such moments “do not reflect the values we uphold as a club — values rooted in discipline, respect, and the spirit of fair play.”
They unreservedly apologised to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), match officials, fans, and the general public, affirming its commitment to integrity and swift internal action.
“We recognize the importance of maintaining the integrity of the game and are taking immediate steps to reinforce that commitment,” the club added in a statement dated November 10.
The statement confirmed that disciplinary processes had been initiated concerning the player involved, noting that these steps aim “to ensure accountability, uphold our standards, and prevent future occurrences.”
Reiterating the club’s ethos, management emphasized that “football is a game of passion, but it must always be governed by respect.”
The statement also expressed deep appreciation to its supporters and stakeholders for their continued loyalty throughout the 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League season.
“Your presence, energy, and commitment continue to inspire us, and we do not take it for granted.
“Your voice matters, and your loyalty drives us to do better. We ask for your continued support as we work to restore confidence and uphold the highest standards of conduct,” it added.
