Member of Parliament (MP) for Asunafo North, Haruna Mohammed, has alleged that the Minority in Parliament had already planned to disrupt the vetting process of the Chief Justice.
Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS), he stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) objected to the vetting process of Chief Justice nominee, Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, on Friday, November 7, 2025.
Mr. Mohammed noted that the Speaker of Parliament, the Right Honorable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, ruled that Parliament must comply with the executive’s request, as it cannot refuse, in response to the Minority’s debate.
“The Speaker emphasized that if Parliament continues to refuse the request of the executive, it will lead to a procedural and constitutionally unsustainable situation,” he said on Tueday, November 11, 2025.
However, he predicted that minority in parliament would interrupt and walked out on the vetting process of the chief justice.
