A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team, Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, has asserted that the bereaved families of the August 6, 2025, helicopter crash should take legal action against the Government of Ghana and the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) for negligence.

Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Dr. Boakye-Danquah said the tragic incident, which claimed the lives of the Defense Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah; Environment and Science Minister, Dr. Mohammed Murtala and six others, should not be politicized but rather handled with accountability.

“This should not be about politics. If I were a relative of Omane Boamah, Murtala, or any of the deceased persons, I would sue the government and the armed forces for negligence,” he stated.

According to him, those who perished in the crash were not ordinary citizens but individuals who had dedicated their lives to serving the country. He argued that their deaths could have been prevented had the authorities ensured the aircraft was properly inspected before takeoff.

“These were men who served Ghana diligently. Their lives were put at risk because of negligence and failure to check the aircraft before it set off. The families must seek justice,” he added.

Dr. Boakye-Danquah further criticized the country’s aviation safety standards, describing Ghana as “unserious” for failing to equip the helicopter with necessary safety enhancements.

“Looking at the things the helicopter was supposed to have but lacked tells us we are not a serious country,” he lamented.
