The Ministry of the Interior has announced that the application portal for recruitment into the various security services will open to the public on Monday, November 17, 2025.

The services include the Police, Prisons, Fire, and Immigration Services.

In a statement issued by the Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the initiative is aimed at ensuring a smooth and orderly selection process, drawing lessons from the recent El-Wak tragedy.

He indicated that multiple screening centers will be established in every region, with Accra hosting between 10 and 15 centers.

According to Mr. Kwakye Ofosu, each center will accommodate no more than 1,000 applicants per day.

“No screening center will accommodate more than 1,000 people at a time, with a target of 500 person in the morning and another 500 in the afternoon,” he revealed in a Facebook post.

To ensure a smooth exercise, he added that applicants who arrive outside their scheduled time will be instantly disqualified.

“Any applicants who shows up in the morning when he/she has been scheduled for the afternoon, will be instantly disqualified.”

To prevent overcrowding, the screening exercise will be conducted in turns, with the Police Service completing its screening before another agency begins.

“The screening process will also be staggered to avoid simultaneous screenings at the same location,” the minister’s post read further.

The decision follows President John Dramani Mahama’s directive to suspend the recruitment exercise after Wednesday’s stampede at the El-Wak Stadium, which claimed six lives and left several others injured.
