Three new factories coming under the 24- hour economy

Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson has revealed that the three new factories in some listed regions will operate under the 24-hour economy by creating jobs for the youth in partnership with the private sector.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament, on Thursday, November 13, 2025, he highlighted that the seven new outbreak processing plants will soon become operational across Northern, Central, Ahafo, Bono, North East, Bono East, and Western North Regions, aimed at processing agricultural products such as yam, fish, and cashew.

According to him, “the move will reduce post-harvest losses, generate hundreds of jobs, and provide a steady market for farmers, marking a critical shift from exporting raw materials to domestic value addition.”

He noted that the initiative will create about 20 thousand direct jobs and both community livelihoods through private sector partnership to strengthen local manufacturing, export of none farous crab metals and raw rubber will be restricted under the industry programs.

“ It will channel raw materials to domestic processes, support components manufactory and build strong value change in metals and rubber based industries.

“Seven new outbreak process plant in the northern, central Ahafo, Bono, north east, Bono east and western north regions will soon be fully operational.” Ato Forson stated.

He outlined that this will process yam, fish, poultry, cashew, rice, shea and palm cannel oil cutting post harvest losses, generating seventy direct jobs, seven hundred direct jobs and providing reliable market for thousands of farmers.
