The palace of the Paramount Chief of the Kwahu Traditional Council at Abena in the Eastern Region was reportedly attacked in the early hours of Monday, November 17, 2025, by armed men believed to be members of national security.
According to reports, the incident, which occurred around 4:00 a.m., was carried out by men dressed in police uniforms and alleged to be national security operatives.
Sources suggest that the Queenmother (Kwahuhemaa), Nana Adwoa Gyemfua, who was at the palace at the time, was kidnapped during the raid.
Her whereabouts remain unknown, sparking widespread fear and anxiety among residents in the area.
The motive behind the attack is still unclear.
Meanwhile, the Kwahu and Nkawkaw Divisional Police Commands have stated that they have no knowledge of the operation carried out by the alleged national security officials.
