Ohemaa Woyeje urges parents to support children’s career choices

Media personality and DJ, Ohemaa Woyeje has advised parents to prioritize guiding their children toward their desired future careers rather than imposing their own expectations on them.

Speaking during her show Y’adwumanie on Angel FM on Tuesday, October 18, 2025, she emphasized that allowing children the freedom to choose their own paths plays a crucial role in their emotional well-being and long-term success.

“Parents, guide your children and don’t force them to be something you want them to do,” she stated.

She warned that pushing children into careers they have no interest in can negatively affect their mental health.

“Guide them on what they want to become in future; it will rather help them than forcing them to be what they don’t want to become. They can die out of depression,” she added.

Ohemaa Woyeje further noted that parental support and guidance can help children develop their talents and excel in their chosen fields.

“Helping them or guiding them will rather improve their capabilities for them to become someone better,” she explained.
