Ghana’s Ambassador to China, Kojo Bonsu, has said that China’s ‘Build Your Dream’ (BYD) plan to establish an assembly plant in Ghana to enhance electric mobility in West Africa is a good investment for the country.

In a phone-in-interview with Angel Midday News, he explained that building of the assembly plant in the country would lead to job creation for the youth, support government efforts, and contribute to boosting the country’s economy.

“ I would be glad if even about ten companies like BYD decides to make such plant, because it will bring investment in Ghana for the youth to get a jobs to do,” the Ambassador said on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

He noted that the Ghanaian community in China is relatively small, so they would appreciate it if Chinese traders partnered with them, as they have the financial means to create opportunities and help the economy grow.

“We have no issues with them. We’re just pleading with them to support us, open doors for us, create sufficient jobs, and help stabilize the economy,” Mr. Bonsu added.
