Former Member of Parliament (MP) of Amenfi Central, Peter Kwakye-Ackah has said that the New Patriotic Party(NPP), should not even consider to contest the Presidential election come the 2028 general elections.

Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS), he suggested that the NPP should use the years ahead to restructure their party, rather than assume they will return to power in the next four years.

“If possible, NPP shouldn’t make up their mind that they are coming to power in the next 4 years,” Mr Ackah stated on Monday, December 8, 2025.

According to him, since former President John Agyekum Kufuor has admitted disunity and coordination among party members, it had been prudent to boycott the polls.

“Kuffour said there is no cooperation in the party, so I suggest that they use this time to rebuild the party and contest for next elections after 2028,” Mr. Ackah recommended.

He emphasized that NPP should not bother contesting for the next presidential elections just as they withdrew from the Tamale Central parliamentary by- election.

“Just like they don’t contest in by-election, I think they should not even contest in the next presidential elections and save money,” he added.
