The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has marked the official start of construction for the Nana Sasu IV Fire Station in Akim Oda with a sod‑cutting ceremony.

According to the Service, the new fire station is expected to significantly enhance emergency response and improve public safety across the Birim Central Municipality and surrounding communities.

The event was led by DOII Kwesi Hughes of the Akim Oda Fire Station and brought together key stakeholders, including ACFO I Timothy Osafo‑Affum and officers from the Eastern Regional Command, Birim Central Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Solomon Brako, and representatives from the Police Service, National Inteigence Bureau (NIB) Immigration Service, clergy, traditional leaders, and the Nana Sasu IV Secretariat.

The ceremony featured prayers and a symbolic sod‑cutting performed by traditional leaders and clergy, formally launching the project.
