Newmont Gold Ghana has handed over a newly constructed mechanized borehole to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the Ahafo Region
The newly constructed borehole is set to boost firefighting operations and improve water access.
In a press statement filed and signed by the Public Relations Officer in the Ahafo region, it stated the facility which was commissioned was well received by the Regional Fire Service Commissioner, who appreciated the organization for their kind gesture.
“The facility was commissioned on Wednesday, 10th December 2025, and received by the Regional Fire Commander, ACFO II Robert Attah Kumi, who expressed gratitude for the timely support,” the statement outlined.
The borehole is expected to enhance the GNFS’s efficiency during emergencies, while Newmont reaffirmed its commitment to supporting public safety and community development.
The ceremony ended with an inspection and demonstration of the facility.
