Ghanaian Rap Icon Sarkodie has opened up about the intense pressure he goes through each year in the build-up to his flagship concert, Rapperholic.

He revealed that his anxiety is driven by a desire for perfection rather than fear.

Speaking about the upcoming edition, Sarkodie explained that he often withdraws from public appearances as the concert date approaches, not because he is scared, but because he wants to ensure everything is done right.

“I’m never not out because I’m scared, but because I want to get everything right. That weight is always on me,” he said.

According to the award-winning rapper, the pressure only eases after Rapperholic is successfully staged. He noted that until the concert is over, he finds it difficult to fully relax.

“I can choose not to come out, but I cannot be relaxed until Rapperholic is done. Maybe from January, I will be okay,” he added.

Sarkodie further disclosed that the tension he feels before each edition of Rapperholic disappears immediately after the show is delivered to fans.

“Every Rapperholic, I’m always very tensed, and after I deliver, the weight is off me. So I’m putting all the energy into the 25th; that’s my priority,” he said.

The rapper, who has headlined Rapperholic for over a decade, stressed that his biggest concern is the experience of the fans who attend the concert year after year.

“I care more about how the people will feel, because that’s the reason why for 13 years they keep coming back to the same concert, because of how I make them feel,” Sarkodie noted.

Assuring fans of another memorable show, Sarkodie said he remains committed to delivering excellence and maintaining the standard Rapperholic is known for.

“I don’t want a year where you don’t give them that. It’s going to be great. I’m still going to deliver,” he said.

Rapperholic is scheduled for December 25 and is expected to bring together music lovers for another night of high energy performances and unforgettable moments.
