The NDC Chairman for the Salaga-South Constituency, Haruna Abdul Aziz, acting on behalf of the Member of Parliament (MP), Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has led a delegation to the Palace of the Kulibu Wura in Makango on Friday, December 26, 2025.

The purpose of the visit was to formally inform the traditional authority about the proposed Makongo–Salaga Private Passenger Transport Transit Project and to seek his support toward its successful implementation.

The project will entail the development of ferry terminals, docking and embarkation facilities, vessel operations, and other associated inland transport infrastructure.

Upon completion, the initiative is expected to significantly enhance transportation safety, stimulate local commerce, and promote economic growth along the Makongo–Salaga corridor and its surrounding communities.

In his response, Yiram Kulibu Wura expressed his profound excitement about the initiative.

He noted that, as a traditional leader, his daily prayer is for meaningful development for his people.

He conveyed his appreciation to the Member of Parliament and the visiting team for bringing such an important project to the area and pledged his support for its realization.
