The Ghana Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the Ghana Association of Chinese Societies, is calling on Chinese citizens in Ghana to uphold integrity, respect local laws, and act as informal ambassadors of their country.

They stress compliance, cultural respect, and mutual cooperation as key pillars for strengthening China-Ghana relations in 2026.

In a statement, issued by the President of the China Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Tang Hong, and signed by Public Relations (PR), Daniel Benin, reminded the Chinese community that Ghanaian laws apply to all without exception, cautioning against illegal activity, fraud, or behavior that could tarnish China’s image.

He observed that violators would face Ghana’s legal consequences and should not expect special intervention from Chinese officials.

“Your conduct reflects China,” the statement restated, in a New Year message, urging nationals to engage positively with Ghanaians and promote mutual respect.

The statement highlighted the role of the Chinese Embassy in Ghana, pledging continued support for lawful conduct and cultural exchange.

It encouraged Chinese business partners and investors to build trust and transparency with their Ghanaian counterparts, reinforcing the importance of cooperation in advancing shared success.

Mr. Tang acknowledged the challenges in business partnerships, particularly language barriers and instances where local partners fail to fulfill their commitments.

He urged Ghanaian partners to honor agreements and maintain open communication, stressing that integrity and honesty are vital for building lasting relationships and a stronger China-Ghana business ecosystem.

“Let our cooperation be meaningful, and let us work together to contribute to the development and progress of both China and Ghana,” Mr. Tang adds.

He wished both Chinese and Ghanaian partners good health and prosperity in the New Year, and reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to injecting new momentum into Ghana’s development and fostering shared growth between the two nations.
