The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has ordered a comprehensive audit of all health facilities in the Oti Region to support evidence-based planning and improve healthcare delivery.
The directive follows a two-day working visit to the region, where the Minister engaged with health professionals, assessed working conditions, and discussed issues related to motivation and retention.

Mr. Akandoh also inspected the proposed site for the Oti Regional Hospital, emphasizing the need for proper documentation and due diligence.
“The audit will generate critical data on infrastructure, staffing levels, equipment availability, and service delivery gaps, enabling us to implement targeted interventions,” he said.

The Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening the health system in the Oti Region and advancing plans for the hospital.

The visit included engagements with regional authorities, MPs, and stakeholders, focusing on incentive packages for health workers and strategies to improve health outcomes.
