Ten years after the tragic killing of Joseph Kofi Kyeretwie Boakye Danquah-Adu, former Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, his memory, values, and love continue to resonate within his family.

On Monday, February 9, 2026, his widow, Ivy Heward-Mills, marked the anniversary with a heartfelt tribute reflecting on his life, morals, and enduring legacy.

JB Danquah-Adu was fatally stabbed at his residence in Shiashie, Accra, in the early hours of Tuesday, February 9, 2016. The shocking incident triggered nationwide fear and outrage, with many describing the attack as deliberate and calculated.

In her tribute, Ivy Heward-Mills ( the widow), described the late legislator as a man devoted to God, family, his constituency, and the nation. She said his life was defined by humility, courage, strong principles, and compassion, and that his values continue to guide the family and inspire their daily lives.

“You lived your life in service to God, your family, your constituency, and Ghana, and you did so with humility, diligence, principle and an indelible smile. Your values endure. Your counsel still guides us. Your example still instructs us,” the tribute read.

She expressed gratitude for the years they shared and reaffirmed the family’s commitment to honour his memory through actions that reflect the ideals he stood for.

“As we mark ten years of remembrance, we thank God for the gift of your life and for the years we shared with you. We will continue to honour your memory, not only in words, but in deeds that reflect the values you stood for,” she added.
