Dr. Amoakohene, you see? – Eastern Regional Minister mocks colleague after Hearts win Super Clash

Eastern Regional Minister Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey has taken to social media to mock her colleague, Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene, following Accra Hearts of Oak’s victory in the much-anticipated Super Clash.

The minister, a staunch supporter of the Accra-based club, had earlier issued a playful warning before the game against Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

She advised her colleague to eat well ahead of the encounter, predicting that Hearts would hand him heartbreak after the final whistle.

Her pre-match post read: “Hon Dr Frank Amoakohene, please eat well this morning, Accra Hearts of Oak will give you HEARTACHE today, period 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽.”

True to her words, Hearts of Oak, despite being reduced to 10 men, defeated their arch-rivals Asante Kotoko 1-0 courtesy of a Baba Adamu header in the first half.

The victory secured all three points and bragging rights for the Phobians.

After the match, Madam Akosua Adjei returned to Facebook to remind her colleague of her earlier prediction, posting: “HON DR FRANK AMOAKOHENE, you see?”

At the time of filing this report, Dr. Amoakohene had yet to respond to the minister’s teasing. Before the game, however, he had noted that he was fasting to ensure his team’s success.

Social media users quickly joined in the playful banter, flooding the minister’s post with comments aimed at the disappointed Ashanti Regional Minister.

One follower, Martin Dodobi, joked that the defeat had spoiled Dr. Amoakohene’s meal.

“Hon. Fufuo na sei,” he wrote, meaning “Honourable’s fufu is spoiled.”

Others piled on: “He chop the fufu before going there ooo. All the fufu plans spoil,” two commenters added.

Another user, Nii Ayi Quaye, suggested the minister’s silence was because he had gone to bed early: “Chairman is sleeping.”

Roberts Akumatey also teased:
“Mummy will keep Dr. Amoakohene from social media for some days.”

Despite the trolling, some sympathisers rallied behind the Ashanti Regional Minister and urged restraint.

“Be nice to him, he who is down fears no fall,” Alhaji Halidu Haruna added.

The playful exchange between the two government appointees shows how football rivalries extend beyond the pitch into the political arena.
