Asantehene announces new Board of Directors for Kotoko

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has appointed a new Board of Directors to steer the affairs of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club.

The appointment was announced through a press release from Manhyia Palace on February 27, 2026.

In the release, the new board is led by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Joshob Construction, James Osei Brown, as Chairman with CEO of Rocksure, Kwasi Osei Ofori, serving as Vice-Chairman.

Other appointee include Founder and CEO of Rigworld Group, Kofi Amoa-Abban.

According to the release, the board will assume statutory oversight immediately, while the Interim Management Committee will continue to manage the club until the end of the 2025/2026 Premier League season.

A meeting presided over by the Chief of Staff at Manhyia, Kofi Badu introduced the new board to the interim team and emphasized cooperation for a smooth transition.

The newly elected Board Chairman Mr. Osei Brown expressed their commitment to elevating Asante Kotoko to its rightful stature and urged management to intensify efforts during the remaining weeks of the season.

On his part, Chairman of the Interim Management Committee (IMC), Nana Akwasi Awuah Apinkrah, welcomed the board and assured full support during the transition period.
