The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has announced that the government is prepared to fly Sandra Beffi Boateng abroad for specialized medical treatment if her doctors recommend it.

Addressing Parliament on Monday, March 9, 2026, the minister provided an update on the condition of Ms. Boateng, who sustained injuries during a stampede at the Ghana Armed Forces recruitment exercise.

According to him, the government continues to closely monitor her recovery and has implemented measures to ensure that “no cost is passed onto the patient or family.”

He stated that the patient has been receiving sustained medical care under a specialist-led multidisciplinary team, with rehabilitation and social support services provided to enhance her recovery, later transferred throughout February 2026 to the 37 Military Hospital for further management.
