‎Development Impact Partners (DIP), in collaboration with the Ghana Health ‎Service (GHS), has announced Consumer Health Week 2026 (CHW 2026), themed: “Empowering Consumers Strengthening Health Systems.”
‎
‎In a statement issued on Monday, March 16, 2026, the DIP noted that the initiative will increase consumer health literacy and improve public confidence in Ghana’s health and regulatory systems.
‎
‎The week-long celebration is scheduled from Monday, April 6, to Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Accra.
‎
‎CHW 2026 is a high-level national platform dedicated to advancing consumer health literacy, patient safety, responsible health practices, and trust within Ghana’s health system.
‎
‎According to the DIP, it will be officially launched on April 7, in commemoration of World Health Day, at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences in Accra.
‎
‎It noted that the week’s celebration will include Government institutions such as the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), Development Partners, Civil Society, Private Sector Actors, Healthcare Professionals, Media, and Consumer Groups.

The DIP explained that the week-long celebration aims to enhance consumer awareness of health rights and also provide a platform for learning and innovation in the health care sector.
‎
‎”CHW 2026 seeks to strengthen consumer awareness of health rights and patient safety; promote responsible use of health products and services; contribute to national health policy dialogue; foster public-private collaboration; and provide a platform for innovation and learning
‎In the health sector, expected outcomes,” the statement disclosed.

By aligning with World Health Day, CHW 2026 reinforces global commitments to health equity, access, accountability, and system resilience, positioning consumers at the centre of Ghana’s
‎healthcare discourse.
