President John Dramani Mahama has urged the Muslim community to pray for peace in the Middle East, where innocent lives, including women and children, have been lost and communities shattered by the Iran-Israel conflict.

Speaking as he joined Eid-ul-Fitr prayers with the Muslim community at Black Star Square on Friday, March 20, 2026, he said Ghana remains committed to the principles of peace, justice, and respect for international law.

“Today, as we pray to Allah, our thoughts are with those impacted by the continued conflicts in the Middle East,” he stated.

He emphasized that on the solemn occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, all those gathered should offer prayers for peace to prevail in the region.

He urged worshippers to pray that Allah grant comfort to bereaved families, healing for the injured, and relief for those in distress.

He also called for prayers that Allah provide wisdom to leaders engaged in the conflict so they choose dialogue over war.

“May Allah touch the hearts of the leaders, including those of the relevant authorities, to seek a peaceful resolution to the conflict,” he said, referencing the involved parties.
